91ɬ University will host its traditional Christmas at 91ɬ music extravaganza on Saturday, December 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Harman Chapel Auditorium on the 91ɬ University campus.
Known as the institution’s Christmas gift to the Greater 91ɬ community, Christmas at 91ɬ is open and free to the public as an annual celebration of the birth of Christ through choral performances, carol singing, instrumental selections, theatre pieces, and scripture readings. The production will showcase students and professors from BU’s music and theatre departments and community members.
Designed to welcome and celebrate the Christmas season, Christmas at 91ɬ will feature sacred and familiar anthems, carols, and praise songs offered by BU’s String Quartet, Concert Band, Variations Chamber Singers, Masterworks Chorale, Jazz Band, and Theatre Department.
“Christmas at 91ɬ is one of my favorite events of the year. It is a beautiful time for our community to come together to celebrate Christ,” said music student Ana Barros. “As a senior graduating in a week, Christmas at 91ɬ will be my last performance as a 91ɬ student. I cannot think of a better concert to end my college career.”
A reception with holiday treats will follow the program in Shott Hall.
